Options for electric cars are more vast than they’ve ever been. With many car brands making the pledge to go all-electric in the upcoming years, there’s a number of EV choices for almost everyone. Tesla isn’t the only company offering electric vehicles these days.
We can’t tell you which EV is best for you, but we can help you limit your options. Do you want something that’s less expensive and has a smaller range, or do you want to spend a little more money on a model with more luxury and range for a road trip without having to charge?
Here’s a few models to choose from and why they are good picks.
Keep in mind, just because you are saving on mileage, doesn’t mean you’re driving a safer vehicle. Car crashes happen and when they do, hire Ewing car crash injury lawyers or Toms River, NJ car crash injury lawyers. You don’t want to be hit with a serious suit and not have representation.
2021 Mini Cooper SE
Mini may be a newcomer to the electric car category, but it’s first go at it is very solid. The new Mini Cooper SE does come a little bit short on range, but it’s very comfortable and is an enjoyable ride, not to mention a shockingly affordable price. Those electrical outlet-looking rims are also pretty popular.
On one charge, the Mini can only manage to drive a little over 100 miles, but does have decent horsepower (181) for such a compact vehicle. Luckily, you can charge the Mini as much as 80% in only about 30 minutes, which is not bad.
2021 Chevrolet Bolt
For a vehicle it’s size, the Chevy Volt delivers incredible range, but isn’t the best-looking of the EVs out there. It is getting a redesign in 2022 though.
When it comes to range and price, the Bolt is one of the best choices on the entire market. It can travel as much as 260 miles on a single charge and even packs some power with 200 horses under the hood.
2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford pulls off a notable jump into the EV market with its brand new Mustang Mach-E. Despite its moniker, the Mach-E has exceptional ranges in a compact body that also offers decent luggage capacity.
While a GT edition is coming, the Mach-E’s standard model is a blast to drive and worthy of the Mustang moniker. It boasts 290 horsepower in RWD and 346 horsepower in all-wheel drive. Currently, it is one of the best electric vehicles right now.

2021 Tesla Model 3
It’s no surprise that Tesla’s Model 3 is a popular option among electric vehicle buyers. It’s fun to drive, nice to look at, and comes with arguably the best range available. It does, however, come with a nice pricetag.
The Tesla Model 3 has power and thanks to two trunk spaces, you have a lot of storage space. The Long Range edition allows you to travel more than 350 miles.
2021 Porsche Taycan
The Porsche Taycan initially seems like it would be a difficult sell, because, well, it’s pricey. But, it’s a Porsche, so it shouldn’t be much of a shock. It is arguably one of the top EVs out right now. It boasts a nice range with over 225 miles, so you can get to most places unless you’re going on a road trip.
Our favorite part is the 400 horsepower, making it run to drive, even if you bought the base model. With such an excellent EV option, it’s going to be interesting to see what Porsche comes up with next.
